Advice for employers:

The ACAS code of practice on disciplinary and Grievance procedures came into force on the 6th April 2009.

The changes in the ACAS code of practice are brought about by the Employment Act 2008. Generally the new code is good news for employers.

The new procedures introduce some very important changes that all employers need to be aware of.

In order to ensure compliance with the new procedures employers should seek advice from a specialist employment lawyer.

You may wish to consider reviewing company disciplinary procedures and contracts of employment.
