Once the document has been signed and sealed by the notary, it may need to be legalised before it can be used abroad.
For most countries, legalisation by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office is sufficient. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office will attach an apostille which is a small piece of paper attached to the back of the notarised document which verifies that the signature and seal of the notary is genuine.
For some countries, further legalisation may be required by that country’s embassy and we can advise as appropriate on the exact requirements of the country that you are dealing with.
