Welcome to the Winston Solicitors online training service - CPE Training for Notaries

This service is managed by Katie Beckett, CPE Trainer and Notary Public. Online training is an effective and cost efficient way of keeping up to date with changes in the profession, ensuring that you are compliant with the Notaries Practice Rules and obtaining the requisite Continuing Professional Education points you will need to renew your practicing certificate.

We have broken the training sessions down into manageable 30 minute sections so that you can fit them in around your clients and other work commitments, without it affecting your availability or your income. You can log in at a time that suits you, without having to travel and you can pause the sessions as you wish. You can also go back and watch them again.

Please take our 60 Second Notary Training Survey and let us know more about your CPE training needs

What format will the training be in?

The training will be 30 minute recorded webinars. The format will be very simple – if you can use email, you can use a webinar. Our focus will be on making the sessions completely user friendly and there will be as much technical support as you need.

The session will start with a personal introduction from Katie Beckett, Notary Public, followed by a series of slides and images with a voice over. Most sessions will be delivered in conjunction with a specialist in that field. At the end of each session, you will submit a short online questionnaire and we will then email you a certificate of completion confirming your CPE award.

Will the training be accredited by the Faculty Office?

The Faculty Office will need to consider each individual training course before the CPE is confirmed but it is intended that each module will be accredited with half a CPE point. Notaries need a minimum of 6 CPE points per year, 3 of which must be accredited. So 6 sessions will be sufficient for the accredited CPE but you have the option of doing more and this will count towards your total CPE requirement.

Notaries who are not required to obtain CPE (for example, those still under supervision) will be able to benefit from the training by increasing their knowledge of particular subject areas which may not be covered on the Continuing Education days.

How much will each session cost?

Each session will cost £30 plus VAT and you can pay online using a debit card. There is a 10% discount for booking 6 or more sessions per notary as a block booking.

There are two or more notaries in my practice - can we watch the same webinar?

Each notary will need to register separately to obtain their completion of CPE certificate. However, if you each register for different courses, you can watch each other’s webinars to obtain non-accredited CPE.
