Winston Solicitors welcomed the opportunity to work with Cardinal Heenan High School, in Leeds 6, during a project involving imagination, creativity and business flair.

A ‘Dragon’s Den’ style forum was set up with the Year 10’s working on their projects in five teams of 16. Each team had two hours come up with a business idea with a prototype, work out costings and prepare their presentation. Spokespersons for each team presented their idea to a panel of judges who included Miles Mount from LEAP, Christine Marsden from Education Leeds and from Winston Solicitors Jonathan Winston and Francis O’Neill.

Having listened to all the business ideas the panel then chose the most worthy winner.

“I was looking for a team that presented an interesting plan, but I also wanted to see enthusiasm and belief in themselves.” said Jonathan Winston. “It was great fun and hopefully the teams were able to work on a project that motivated them and enabled them to be work as part of a team.”

Jonathan and Francis from Winston Solicitors then presented personal calculators to each member of the winning team.
