Children to be given important life skills

An event in Leeds this week will see children in the city being given a lesson in life as they prepare to move schools.

About 100 children from six primary schools in the city, who are about to move onto secondary schools in September, will be given lessons on different cultures and religions but also on the impact of anti-social behaviour and the dangers of playing with fire.

The event, which is being held in Bramley, will be attended by West Yorkshire Police, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and bus firm First West & North Yorkshire. The fire service will warn of the consequences of starting a fire and will teach the pupils about aspects of fire safety.
