Following on from exhibiting some of his work at the St Gemma's Annual Art Exhibition, which was held in September 2008, Keith Dennett was commissioned to paint the front of the offices of Winston Solicitors, on Street Lane in Leeds.
Keith, a retired roofer, has been painting as a hobby for over 20 years. Jonathan Winston saw his art at the Exhibition and invited Keith for a chat and to bring along some more of his work. The paintings that struck Jonathan the most were scenes of Leeds city centre and the surrounding areas. Having bought a number of the paintings for his office, Jonathan also decided Keith's artistic style would lend itself perfectly to the office building, and so decided to ask Keith if he would be interested in a commission.
Five weeks later, after working solidly on the piece, Keith arrived to hand over the finished artwork.
“I am so thrilled with all of Keith's paintings that we have bought, but I am especially excited about the piece we commissioned”, comments Jonathan. “His style is perfect as he has captured the detail, especially all of the brick work. It has been a pleasurable experience to work with Keith and I'm looking forward to seeing what he brings next to show me.”
