The Patrons’ Evening at the St Gemma’s 13th Annual Art Exhibition was a great mixture of chatter, tinkling of glasses and the lovely sound of the cash register working overtime. As is tradition, Winston Solicitors LLP sponsored the patrons’ evening which proved to be a very busy night for the sales team, with plenty of visitors readily purchasing the fantastic pieces of art.
From the 900 works of art on display, visitors were asked to vote for their favourite piece, resulting in the winner of the Suzanne Winston Award for Best in Show. This year’s surprised and slightly shocked recipient of the award was Roger Simpson, a watercolour artist, whose bold and free style proved popular.
The four day exhibition raised £24,000 for the hospice, taking the total the event has raised in its 13 year history to over £200,000.
