The highly anticipated and well-regarded, St Gemma’s Hospice Sale and Art Exhibition returned for another year raising over £20,000 for the hospice.

The annual Patrons’ Evening, which was sponsored by Winston Solicitors for the eighth year running, was held on Thursday 29October 2015 at The Grammar School at Leeds.

Guests enjoyed delicious canapés and a look at over 900 pieces of artwork created by professionals and aspiring artists from across the country. The launch of a dedicated photography exhibition was another welcomed feature to the highly successful event.

Throughout the four day exhibition, visitors were invited to vote for their favourite artist at the exhibition for the Suzanne Winston Award for Best in Show. This is an annual award and was presented on the final afternoon of the exhibition.

This year’s Best In Show winner was John Edwards, a full time, self-taught artist and illustrator specializing in ink and watercolour. Seven out of his eight paintings sold at the exhibition, and having exhibited at the event for the past 12 years, this was John’s first award win.

Client feedback

As a first time solo buyer, I had no idea what I was doing with buying a house. Samantha at Winston Solicitors was incredible, her and her team explained everything and everytime I had a question (which was often) they responded quickly and in a way that was easy to explain. Using Winston Solicitors made the house buying process so easy and quick, from the initial viewing of the house to completion, it was only 12 weeks! After hearing horror stories of a long buying process, I couldn't be more happy to have worked with an amazing company! If you are looking for a solicitor for your house purchase, I would highly recommend Winston Solicitors!

Very handy as a local north Leeds firm, no need to travel to Leeds. Understood exactly what we required and prepared the documents carefully and quickly. Kept us informed as to progress throughout. I would recommend them for any private client work.
