As first time buyers we were very anxious about the whole process. We’d heard lots of stressful stories about the process and was anxious on what to expect but for our experience this couldn’t be more wrong.Whilst we had a pretty complex purchase due to issues with the property, Sidraa was great. She was all over everything and so knowledgeable. We had a tight deadline to when our mortgage offer ran out and Sidraa made it all happen. When there was some challenges with the house and I was stressed Sidraa was empathetic and guided us through what was needed on the phone, this was reassuring and helpful. They were always super quick to answer our questions by phone or email and built a good direct relationship. Much better experience than previous dealings with some large solicitors where there is no personal touch or long delays to queries. We were slightly worried about using a solicitor located further from us (we are in Surrey and they are based in Leeds) but with everything being online/phone/email this wasn't an issue at all. Their web portal isn't as fancy as some, but still gave us a good at a glance view of the progress of our purchase and all the steps involved which was all we needed. The team also gave us regular updates via email / phone on the progress. Winston will definitely be our goto solicitor next time and we would happily recommend to friends and family.

After a bad attack of Covid-19 which put me in hospital for a week I thought that it was about time for me to sort out a will. On the recommendation of a friend I contacted Winston Solicitors and met up with Monika Voising who explained clearly the steps involved, helping me to move quickly to the desired end point. She also put in place for me Lasting Power of Attorney arrangements. The one downside to the latter was the time it took to get the necessary approval from the Office of the Public Guardian! I found Monika to be empathetic and to be patient when facing my woeful ignorance or the bureaucracy imposed by third parties. An excellent service.
