We’re proud be a firm with deep Yorkshire roots. To celebrate Yorkshire Day on 1 August 2019 we quizzed our team to find out just how Yorkshire they all are.

Yorkshire Day essentials

  1. Yorkshire Day is an annual eventon 1 August
  2. Yorkshire Day is a time to reflect and celebrate all things Yorkshire
  3. Yorkshire is the largest county in the UK

We uncovered that two thirds of the Winston Solicitors team were actually born within the Ridings of Yorkshire (we did say we had deep Yorkshire roots). We even have one member of staff who was born right here in Roundhay! And what about the other half? They hail from far flung places of the globe including Bromley, Cumbria, County Durham, Kent, Manchester, Wolverhampton and Poland. Fortunately, they have taken to Yorkshire like a duck to water and enjoy living in their adopted home.

When asked about their favourite aspects of Yorkshire the three most popular answers were Yorkshire Puddings, Yorkshire people and Yorkshire Dales! Numerous parks and the Yorkshire coast featured too along with some the great shops in Leeds City Centre and then taking time to enjoy the wide variety of restaurants, pubs and clubs in Leeds.

If you are looking for some top tips of places to visit in Yorkshire, here are the Winston Solicitors Yorkshire recommendations:

Walks: Yorkshire Dales, Whitby, Malham Cove, Brimham Rocks, Yockenthwaite Valley, Staithes, Otley Chevin, Fraisthorpe Beach, Bolton Abbey

James was excellent. He provided clear, precise advice and always outlined my options. He is a real asset to the company, and I have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone in a similar situation to mine.

Can not recommend enough. I have used Samantha Robertson Strong for both the purchase and sale of my old house and she was amazing from start to finish. She always went above and beyond and always dealt with things in a speedy and efficient manor whilst always explaining exactly what was happening. Thanks for everything Sam.

Winston Solicitors was recommended to me by a friend, and I now know why. Samira supported me during a difficult time and made everything feel manageable. She’s extremely knowledgeable, efficient, and great to work with. I felt supported throughout the process. I’d happily return if I needed help again and will be recommending Winston Solicitors to others. A fantastic team!
