Jonathan Perry, Commercial Property Solicitor

What's been your funniest moment as a conveyancer?

In 1997 I was asked to attend a swear by the late Princess Diana. Whilst enjoying the privilege of meeting her, I almost asked her for the £5 swear fee and the numerous £2 exhibit fees. Fortunately, common sense kicked in, I refrained from mentioning costs and her solicitors paid up afterwards.

Which period in history would influence your dream home?

The Regency period draws me in because I just adore those huge and majestic white stucco fronted houses you see in the Outer Circle of

Regents Park in London. They ooze class and prestige. It would be great to live in a home influenced by that period.

If you could magic one more room in your home, what would it be?

A retro games room that has an original space invaders game, pinball machine and a darts board. It would be a place to invite friends

and family, to hang out with some competitive gaming for those who wanted it.

Leasa Foster, Partner and Conveyancing Manger

What's been your funniest moment as a conveyancer?

After a straight forward transaction for a lovely client, she was upset to find personal items had been left by the seller, including some racy underwear. On asking the seller's solicitor why they were left, the seller had replied “as a moving in present”!

Which period in history would influence your dream home?

I love old barns that are then converted with a modern twist. Fabulous beams, open space and, most of the time, a high ceiling. There are

some really amazing barn conversions out there and still quite a few ready for the picking. Being able to convert a barn from scratch would be

so exciting. Bi-folding doors are a must to help bring in the outside in with a big open fire to cosy up to on a cold winters night.

If you could magic one more room in your home, what would it be?

A gym, swimming pool and hot tub! Being able to work out at home would be so nice and also in my pyjamas if I ever felt the need. Those late

nights when your mind is working overtime and being able to run on your own running machine to let off some steam. Imagine coming home

from a long day at the office and plunging into your own heated pool followed by a glass of fizz in the hot tub.

Jeremy Conway, Partner and Conveyancing Solicitor

What's been your funniest moment as a conveyancer?

I worked hard to trace the owner of half of the private road behind my client’s property. When I applied to the Land Registry to amend the register and plan, I was told that my work was unnecessary because there is a legal presumption that the owner of property next to a private road owns the adjoining land up to the middle of the road. My application was granted. Never presume anything, except maybe an access road!

Which period in history would influence your dream home?

I am always draw to 1930’s homes as they were built with great rooms, good spaces and plenty of interesting features included in the building.

If you could magic one more room in your home, what would it be?

It would be an ever expanding bedroom, similar to an ever expanding homely dormitory, so that there would always be space for guests to come over and stay.
