Woman finds mouse in bag of chips

A London woman has received an apology and £50 in vouchers after she found a dead mouse in a bag of oven chips.

The woman, who bought the bag from her local Co-op store in Poplar, East London, thought that the offending item was a black chip before closer inspection revealed the grisly truth. The discovery comes soon after an Oxfordshire resident also found a dead mouse, this time in a loaf of bread bought from Tesco.

Stephen Forse was making sandwiches for his children when he noticed a dark object in the corner of some of the slices of bread. Thinking there was an innocent explanation for it, he looked closer to find that the object had fur on it. The production firm responsible was fined £17,000.

Client feedback

I dealt with Emily regarding my will; she was professional and a pleasure to work with.

My husband and I finally got around to having wills written via the charity scheme (St Gemma's). Emily was great at talking us through the options, answering our queries and setting this up professionally, personably and in a timely manner. I would recommend Winstones to others and would use them again for any legal work we may require in the future.

My situation is fairly straightforward with a couple of areas on which I needed a bit of advice. The solicitor was very helpful at explaining the possible options. The process was thorough and executed in a timely way.
