Reflecting on a Remarkable Year at Winston Solicitors - Award-Winning Solicitors in Roundhay
Solicitors in Roundhay Supporting the Local Community and Beyond
As 2025 draws to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on another incredible year, here at Winston Solicitors in Roundhay. From award wins and new team members, to community events and charity fundraisers, this year has been filled with moments that highlight the dedication, expertise and warmth that make our firm what it is.

It’s been a year of growth, recognition, and connection with our staff, our clients, and our local community. And we’ve loved every minute!
Celebrating Excellence – Awards and Accolades
We were thrilled to be recognised once again by The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, two of the UK’s most respected legal directories.
Our Family Law team was ranked Tier 2 in The Legal 500 UK 2025, a testament to our commitment to excellence and compassionate client service.
Harriet Reid was honoured with a place in The Legal 500 Hall of Fame, a distinction reserved for lawyers who have been consistently recognised for outstanding client care and legal expertise over many years.
Teresa Davidson, our Head of Family Law, was again recognised as a Leading Partner, reaffirming her reputation as one of Yorkshire’s top family solicitors.
We also celebrated continued success in Chambers & Partners 2025, with our Family team ranked Band 3, Teresa Davidson achieving a Band 1 ranking, and Harriet Reid ranked Band 2. These independent recognitions reflect not only our legal ability but also the trust our clients place in us to guide them through some of life’s most challenging moments.
Our Conveyancing team also celebrated a client-service triumph this year, winning Best in County (Yorkshire) and Best in Postcode at The ESTAS 2025 Awards. These accolades are based purely on client feedback. Making them a particularly meaningful reflection of the relationships we build and the quality of our service.
Growing Our Team and Expertise
2025 has also been a year of growth and expansion. We were delighted to welcome several new colleagues across the departments, including support staff, bringing fresh expertise and enthusiasm to the firm.
James Urquhart-Burton joined as Head of a new department for the firm – NHS Continuing Healthcare Funding. He brought with him a wealth of experience and has been a valuable asset, expanding our offering and supporting the Private Client team.
We were also delighted to welcome Debbie Sadler as our new Head of Personal Injury. Debbie is skilled in personal injury law, having successfully represented clients in a wide range of complex and sensitive cases throughout her career. Since joining the firm, she has settled in seamlessly, leading the team with expertise, empathy, and a strong commitment to securing justice.
A number of internal promotions recognising the dedication and achievements of our talented team members. Congratulations to Erika Medveckaite, Dervinder Roth, Emily Spencer and Sade Landsdowne for their professional successes.
Supporting the Community and Local Charities
As ever, giving back to our community has been a cornerstone of our year.
Our annual Winston Solicitors Charity Quiz Night was another great success, raising £3,115 for Leeds Mencap, one of our long-standing charity partners. This much-loved event combined friendly competition, great company, and fundraising for a vital cause. Perfectly reflecting the spirit of Winston Solicitors.
We also proudly took part in Remember a Charity in Your Will Week, encouraging people to consider the lasting difference a gift in their will can make. Our Private Client team offered free guidance sessions to help clients understand how simple and powerful charitable legacies can be.
In a similar vein, our Private Client team raised around £2,900 for St. Gemma’s Hospice by taking part in Make a Will Month.
In terms of the LS8 Meet-Ups, we raised £431 in total. Donations were made to The Alzheimer’s Society, Dogs Trust Leeds, Whiteknights Yorkshire Blood Bikes, Music House Leeds, SANDS and Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice. Thank you as always to The Leeds Deli for being such fantastic hosts.
Beyond fundraising, we continued to strengthen connections within our local community. The LS8 Meet-Up, hosted by Winston Solicitors, has become a cornerstone event for Leeds’ local professionals and business owners. These informal networking sessions provide a friendly space for collaboration, conversation, and community growth right here in Roundhay.
On International Women’s Day 2025, a lucky few solicitors attended the She Business event at the DoubleTree Hilton. In solidarity with women supporting women, the event had speakers talking all things fashion, confidence and authenticity.
Team Spirit and Togetherness
Our firm-wide annual meeting and team-building day at The Mansion, Roundhay Park, was a standout moment in the calendar. It gave us all the chance to connect across departments, celebrate the year’s successes, and share ideas for the future. The day combined inspiration and fun, with team activities that brought out everyone’s competitive spirit!
We also enjoyed a packed social calendar this year, including a spring meal at Hesco in Roundhay, the infamous Winston Solicitors Garden Party, a pizza-filled evening at Pizza Express, and the much-anticipated fireworks and Fish ‘n’ Chips night.
Not to mention the myriad themed fuddles, where people showcased their culinary skills. Just all part of the friendly, inclusive culture that defines Winston Solicitors. Topping off the fun, we had an absolutely blast at the Christmas Party, which was held at the glamourous BiBis. A long-standing Leeds institution.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As we look forward to 2026, we do so with excitement and optimism.
We’ll continue to invest in our people, our community, and the technology that helps us deliver an exceptional client experience. We’re also looking forward to expanding our legal services further. Our mission remains clear: to provide high-quality, accessible legal advice delivered with empathy and integrity.
To all our clients, colleagues, and community partners, we want to send a hearty thank you for being part of our journey this year.
Here’s to another successful year ahead!
